Space to talk, room to breathe.
Wren Therapy is a calm, private space to work through what's weighing on you, at your own pace, with someone who listens properly. Counselling for adults, online or in person in Kendal.
How I can help
Whatever brought you here, you don't have to carry it alone.
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, and you don't need a diagnosis or the "right" words to begin. These are some of the things we might work on together.
Anxiety & worry
Racing thoughts, unease, the sense of always waiting for something to go wrong.
Low mood
Feeling flat, heavy or disconnected from the things that used to matter.
Stress & burnout
Running on empty, at work or at home, with nothing left for yourself.
Relationships
Patterns that keep repeating, difficult family ties, or feeling unheard.
Life changes
Loss, a new chapter, or a version of yourself you're still getting to know.
Self-worth
The quiet, critical voice that tells you you're not quite enough.
How I work
Gentle, unhurried, and led by you.
I offer an integrative approach, which is a considered way of saying I draw on a few therapies and shape our work around you, rather than fitting you to a method. There's no script and no rush. We go at a pace that feels safe.
- A free 15-minute intro call first. We talk before anything else, so you can get a feel for me and ask whatever you need to.
- Weekly 50-minute sessions. Online, or in person in a quiet room in Kendal. Whatever suits your life.
- No pressure to commit. We agree as we go. You're never locked into a set number of sessions.
- Confidential and unjudged. A private space that stays private, held to BACP's ethical framework.

Hello
I'm Rowan, and I'd be glad to help.
I've spent over a decade sitting with people through anxiety, loss and change. I trained because I believe everyone deserves to be properly heard, without being hurried or fixed. Outside the room you'll usually find me walking the fells or failing to keep houseplants alive.

Common questions
Before you get in touch
What happens on the first call?
It's a free, no-pressure 15 minutes. You can tell me a little about what's going on, I'll explain how I work, and we'll both get a sense of whether we're a good fit. There's nothing to prepare.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are £55 for 50 minutes. I keep a small number of lower-cost spaces for those who need them, so please do ask.
Online or in person?
Both. Many people prefer the ease of online from their own home; others value coming to a quiet room in person in Kendal. We can switch as you like.
How long will I need to come?
There's no set answer. Some people come for a handful of sessions around a specific worry; others stay longer. We review together and you decide.
