Cooking that follows the season, not the trend.

Our kitchen changes with what the valley gives it: vegetables pulled that morning, fish from the coast, game from the hill. A short menu, cooked properly, and a cellar chosen to sit beside it.

Lunch Thursday to Sunday. Dinner Wednesday to Saturday.

Our story

An old ferryman's inn, brought gently back.

Heron House has stood by this crossing for two hundred years. We took it on in 2019 and did as little as it needed and as much as it deserved: real fires, good beds, and a kitchen worth the drive.

It's run by the two of us and a small team who genuinely like it here. We think you'll feel that.
